Surface Preparation:
Surfaces must be clean, smooth, sound, free from all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent and similar adhesion inhibiting substances and wastes. Surfaces must be level, weak parts must be removed. If there are cracks and pits on the application surface, they should be repaired with suitable Barkimor repair mortars. Bariston application should be started 3-4 days later.
Product Preparation and Application:
Pour 4-4,5 liters of clean, clear water taken from normal ambient temperature into a clean container free from all kinds of substances preventing adhesion. Slowly pour 25 kg of powdered Bariston into the container filled with water. Mix with a low speed mixer until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is obtained. Mixing time should be minimum 5 minutes. After the material reacts, do not add water and mix again. The prepared mixture should be placed in place within 5 minutes depending on the air temperature and the amount of water. BARISTON should be poured from one side to fill the bottom of the gaps that are surrounded on four sides and covered. This prevents the formation of voids by expelling air. It can be pushed with a long piece of iron while casting from one side to accelerate the flow. The casting thickness should be between 10 – 50 mm at a time as a layer thickness. If it is to be used for filling small diameter cylindrical anchors, a preliminary test is recommended.
